Search Process

St John's is searching for a new rector, after wishing former rector The Reverend Dr. Mariann Edgar Budde all the best in her new role as Bishop of Washington D.C.

Four search-process teams have been formed to manage the process of calling our new rector (see below). These teams were formed to reflect the broad demographics of our community and will work closely together throughout the search process. Please congratulate and thank these people for their willingness to serve St. John's in these important roles. Please also keep them in your prayers.

Discovery Team
The team that will discover, discern, and describe the essence of St. John's. The team will articulate who we are and where we want to go in the future as a congregation, and will publish a parish profile letting potential rector candidates know about our Minneapolis community and us.

Search & Call Team
A team composed of a representative cross-section of the congregation. This team will evaluate applicants and discern who is the best rector to walk with us into the future.

Welcome Team
The team will help us welcome the new rector and ensure that he or she is lovingly supported and helped to feel part of the community.

Spiritual Support Team
The team will provide pastoral care to all teams involved in the new rector calling by providing opportunities for prayer, devotional practices, liturgy, and deep listening through the entire course of the process.  The team will seek to guide and support the process in the spirit of Ephesians 3:20,  "Glory be to God whose power working in us can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine."
