PEACE Foundation
The PEACE Foundation leads large-scale, community-driven, collaborative efforts to reduce crime on the northside of Minneapolis. This three-tiered mission statement guides their work in the community:
- Supporting street-level solutions to local violence The Foundation will identify and support authentic, home-grown projects capable of reducing local violence or the seeds of that violence. We will lend structural and resource support to solutions inspired at the grass-roots level.
- Focusing public conversation on the realities of violence The Foundation will expand public dialog about local violence, its roots and solutions. We will set an innovative and substantive tone to public policy discussions that affect change at core levels.
- Calling the broader community to collective action The Foundation will build bridges throughout the metro area and the State with those ready to call violence their own and lend a hand. We will provide members of the broader metro community with a variety of ways to get involved, to individually help build community and reduce local violence.
St. John’s has supported the PEACE Foundation at all levels of their work. If you are interested in learning more, email Susan Tapp, or visit the PEACE Foundation website.
