Haiti Partnership
The Haiti Partnership Program is about growing together in Christ through relationship. St. John's partnered with the parish of St. Philippe & St. Jacques in Gressier, Haiti, in June, 2007. Led by Dianne Pizey and Cheryl Williams, who visited Haiti in November, 2006, the Haiti Partnership Committee meets regularly to coordinate plans for working with St. Philippe & St. Jacques and their rector, Father Kerwin Delicat, and for making visits to Haiti.
In December, 2006, St. John's donated enough money to buy 90 goats for Haitian families. In August and September, 2007, they donated over $6,000 of support for children's school scholarships, teachers' salaries and school supplies. We hope to further develop this relationship by having Haitians from our partner visit us and consider other ways of being together. Our hope is that people from St. John's will make visits to Haiti twice a year.
