Choir & Ensembles at St Johns

We welcome your musical gifts as soloist or in ensemble. Consider participating in one or more of the following opportunities during upcoming St. John's 2011-2012 music season:

Children's Choir
Open to all children (pre-K to 3rd grade) regardless of experience. 1st - 3rd graders practice in the library from 6:00-6:40 pm; Pre-K and Kindergarten ages practice in the Library from 6:40 - 7:00 pm.  Dinner is available in the Parish Hall for families from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.  Children's Choir gathers on Wednesday evenings.

Chime Choir
Open to all children (4th to 6td grade) regardless of experience.The Chime choir practices in the Chancel on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00 pm.

Parish Choir
Open to singers high school age and older. This choir prepares a variety of anthems to sing during 9:00 & 11:00 Sunday morning services. The Parish Choir gathers for practice on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00 pm.

Festival Choir
The Parish Choir expands to welcome everyone interested in singing on a seasonal basis to prepare anthems for any one or all of four principal Festivals including All Saints Sunday (Nov. 6), Christmas Eve (Dec 24), Palm Sunday/Easter Sunday (April 8/15), and Pentecost Sunday (May 27). The Festival Choir gathers for practice from 7:30-9:00 pm on selected Wednesdays prior to each Festival.

Guitar Group/EpiscoPals
A collection of musicians that gather around the popular song and who bring their music to special events at St John's during the year. This energetic group leads St. John's efforts in fundraising for a variety of causes during the year, including the Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ), St. John's high school pilgrimage and building ministries.  The group meets for practice on designated evenings prior to each event.

Cantors
Open to all singers/instrumentalists interested in leading congregational song during services. St John's Cantors meet to prepare 9:00 am service music at 8:00 am on Sunday mornings.  Cantors meet to prepare 11:00 am service music at 10:10 am on Sunday mornings.
