Transitional Priest

Michele Morgan is originally from Canada, moving to Minnesota to attend college.  Michele discerned a call to be a Priest while attending St. John's Minneapolis and volunteering as a youth minister. She packed up and moved to New York City to pursue a Masters in Divinity in the fall of 2001. After graduation, Michele worked for three years as associate rector at Ascension Stillwater, then worked as an Interim/Transitional Priest in St. Cloud. She served for ten months as Interim Children, Youth & Families Minister at St John's, followed by interim work at St. James on the Parkway in Minneapolis.  In addition to her clergy work, Michele is an usher at Target Field, where she not only cheers on the Minnesota Twins but always picks up great sermon material. Michele lives in Northeast Minneapolis with her beloved partner,  Michelle Dibblee, and their new puppy, Rosie.  Michele will serve as St John's transitional priest during the search for a permanent rector, which is expected to be completed in fall/winter 2012.

John Bellaimey is a native of Detroit, Michigan, having attended University of Detriot Jesuit High School, Haverford College, and Harvard Divinity School.  Ordained in Breck's Chapel of the Holy Spirit in 1990, John has served as head of the Religion department there ever since.  John teaches World Religions, Biblical Studies, Ethics, and Theology at Breck, and is the adviser to the Martin Luther King Conference Committee, the Gay-Straight Alliance and the Bi-Annual Interfaith Spiritual Questions Retreats series.  John loves riding his recumbent bicycle everywhere, Nordic skiing, cooking for big crowds, and photography. John is married to Minnneapolis native Lynnell Mickelsen. They have three sons, Will, Jackson, and Carter.

Heidi Joos is a native of the Midwest who roamed on the east coast for a number of years before moving back here to the heartland almost 12 years ago. She was a United Methodist pastor for 12 years and now an Episcopal priest for the past 15 years.  However, she has never earned a living that way, but instead toils in the trenches as a physician, first in Family Practice, and for the past 27 years as a psychiatrist. Heidi lives with her partner of 25 years, Ivy Booth, and her amazing Labrador Retriever, Sophia. They have a daughter, Megan, who lives in Pittsburgh and, working closely with her husband, Matt, has supplied 2 grandsons. Heidi has been an Associate Priest at St. John’s since she moved to Minneapolis. Heidi assists in preaching, presiding at worship, teaching, and providing counsel to St. John’s pastoral care team.

Kate Stebinger, a hospital chaplain at Hennepin County Medical Center, and her wife Louisa, a professor at Macalaster, moved to the Twin Cities from Massachusetts over two years ago. They and their dog, Maddy live in the Longfellow neighborhood. Kate joined St John's because of the community's commitment to spiritual exploration, creativity and service. She loves being a part of liturgy planning and exploring how our worship together both reflects and shapes our community spirituality. She also adores setting tables, doing dishes and hopes to soon find a place among the kitchen crew!
